Russell has signed a deal with FOX Television to develop his own sitcom.

The new project will be based on his own family. "Basically, it's a snapshot of my family 10 years ago.  My brother and I are both still living at home with our parents," Russell says about the project.

"I come from a working-class South Asian family and this show is about exactly that.  It's going to be very funny and very honest."

The project is currently on-hold due to the wrter's strike.  "We found our writer, but nothing can happen until the strike's over."

Despite the fact that the producers have sold thousands of copies across Canada, Russell has only been paid according to the ACTRA scale, versus the hundreds of thousands of dollars that were made by the producers on this product.
